Japan v South Korea - 1959

In December 1959 Japan played South Korea in a men's Asian Qualifier for the 1960 Summer Olympics. The Qualifier consisted of two games, both played in the Korakuen Velodrome in Tokyo. South Korea won the first game 2-0 on 13 December in front of 20,000 supporters with second half goals from Choi and Moon. Although Japan managed to win the second game 1-0 on 20 December with a goal from Ninomiya, it was South Korea which advanced on a 2-1 aggregate to play China in the final qualifying round.
