Japan v Palmeiras - 1967

Palmeiras of Brazil travelled to Japan in June 1967 to play three games against the Japan National Team in the Komazawa stadium in Tokyo. Palmeiras won the first game 2-0 on 18 June. However Japan defeated Palmeiras 2-1 in the second game on 21 June to record their first ever victory over a South American professional side. In the final and deciding game on 25 June Palmeiras restored order with a comfortable 4-0 victory.
