1970 Japan v Djurgardens

Japan v Djurgardens - 1970

Djurgardens of Sweden travelled to Japan in November 1970 to play four games against the Japan National Team. In the first game on 15 November, Djurgardens hammered Japan 6-1. The second game on 17 November was much closer with Djurgardens narrowly defeating Japan 2-1. Djurgardens recorded a third consecutive victory on 21 November with a comfortable 3-0 victory. However Japan shocked Djurgardens in the final game on 23 November as a second half goal secured a narrow 1-0 victory for Japan.

The official programme, which covers all four games has 10 x B5 pages (three of which are adverts) and is all in Japanese. The programme begins with an introduction from the Japanese Football Association and details of the games to be played by Djurgardens on their tour. There is then two pages listing the Djurgardens squad together with small photos of the players and officials and their autographs. Details of the Japan National Team Squad are given along with small photos of their players. There is a 2-page article on Djurgardens together with a team photo. Finally there is a page where the scores and line-ups etc. can be entered.

The pin badge/medal I have in my collection for this game is really rare and interesting and I suspect might possibly have been given to one of the players or officials?
