1972 Japan v Ferencvaros
Japan v Ferencvaros - 1972
UEFA Cup semi finalists Ferencvaros of Hungary travelled to Japan in September 1972 to play three games against the Japan National Team. In the first game on 3 September, Japan and Ferencvaros drew 2-2. Ferencvaros comfortably won the second game played on 6 September with three first half goals helping them to a 3-1 victory. However Japan shocked Ferencvaros in the final game on 10 September as two second half goals secured a 3-1 victory for Japan to square the series.
The official programme, which covers all three games has 12 x B5 pages (three of which are adverts) and is all in Japanese. The programme begins with an introduction from the Japanese Football Association and details of the three games to be played by Ferencvaros on their tour. There is then a two page article on Ferencvaros and a further two pages listing the Ferencvaros squad together with small photos of the players and officials. Details of the Japan National Team Squad are given along with small photos of their players. Finally there is a page where the scores and line-ups etc. can be entered.
The pin badge/medal for this game is really rare and interesting and I suspect might possibly have been given to one of the players or officials?
