Hamburg SV of Hungary travelled to Japan in January1972 to play two games against the Japan National Team. In the first game on 9 January in the Tokyo National Stadium, Hamburg SV defeated Japan 3-2. The second game on 11 January saw Japan and Hamburg SV draw 2-2.

The official programme, which covers both games has 12 x B5 pages (three of which are adverts) and is all in Japanese. The programme begins with an introduction from the Japanese Football Association and details of the two games to be played by Hamburg SV on their tour. There are then two pages listing the Hamburg SV squad together with small photos of the players and officials. Details of the Japan National Team Squad are given along with small photos of their players. Finally there is a page where the scores and line-ups etc. can be entered.
