Rugby - Japan v Wales - 1975

Wales played four games in Japan on their 1975 tour of the Far East. No 'caps' were awarded to the Welsh players who took part in the games.

In the first match on 15 September Wales defeated a combined Waseda University team 32-3. In the second match Wales defeated Japan B 34-7. In the third game in Osaka Wales defeated Japan 56-12 and in the final game in Tokyo Wales defeated Japan 82-6 to make it four wins out of four in Japan.

The official programme and ticket for the game on 24 September 1975 are shown below. The A5 sized programme has 34 pages and is almost all in Japanese, 11 of which are adverts. The programme opens with two pages of welcome introductions in both Japanese and English, followed by 4 pages with details of the Welsh players including small photos of each player. Six pages list all of the past results of the Japan national rugby team. The centre pages includes the team line-ups, followed by two pages with articles in Japanese and 4 pages with details of the Japan players including small photos of each player.  There is a large full page photo of T. Mervyn Davies and on the final page details of the Japan Rugby Football Union officials and space to write in the results of the Welsh tour games in Japan.
