Japan defeated the Philippines 3-0 in front of 25,000 spectators in the Yoyoki National Stadium, Tokyo in this Asia Group 3 Qualifying Game for the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Japan lead 2-0 at Half Time with goals from Hiroshi Ochiai and Toshio Takabayashi in the 12th and 17th minutes respectively, and another goal from Hiroshi Ochiai in the 73rd minute completed the scoring.
