1979 - Rugby - Japan v England
England played four games in Japan on their 1979 tour of Japan, Fiji and Tonga. No 'caps' were awarded to the England players who took part in the international matches.
England defeated a Japan B Team 36-7 in the first match in Tokyo on 10 May. In the second match in Osaka on 13 May, the Japan National Team was leading 19-15 going into injury time before a converted try by Peter Squires allowed England to win the match. The third game in Fukuoka saw England crush Kyushu 80-3. England completed a clean sweep of victories with a 38-18 victory in Tokyo on 20 May.
