Kirin Cup 1984

The seventh Kirin Cup (Japan Cup) tournament was held in Japan from 27 May to 6 June 1984 and featured Japan, Toulouse (France), Internacional (Brazil), Ireland, China and a Japan Student Selection. The tournament reverted to its format of 1980 & 1981 and the teams were divided into two groups of three teams, with the top two from each group qualifying for the semi-finals. China and Internacional finished top of Groups A and B respectively. In the semi-finals Internacional defeated Toulouse 4-1 and Ireland defeated China 1-0. In the final Internacional came from behind to defeat Ireland 2-1 with goals from Milton Cruz and a superb winner from Ruben Paz to win the 1984 Kirin Cup.

The programme includes the list of fixtures and details of the competing teams with small photos of each of their players. The programme also has full page features on Gerard Soler (Toulouse), Ruben Paz (Internacional) and Frank Stapleton (Ireland) and an A3 colour photo of Ruben Paz on the centre pages. Finally the programme included details of previous Kirin Cup tournaments.
