1985 Toyota Cup
1985 Toyota Cup Final
Juventus v Argentinos Juniors
Juventus of Italy became the first European Team to win the Toyota Cup with victory over Argentinos Juniors of Argentina in front of 62,000 supporters in Tokyo on 8 December 1985. Juventus came from behind twice in normal time with a penalty from man of the match Michel Platini and a late goal from Michael Laudrup, to force extra time. With no more goals in extra time the match was decided by penalty kicks. Michel Platini had been unlucky to have a spectacular individual goal disallowed in normal time as another Juventus player was adjudged to have been in an offside position, albeit not interfering with play, so it was perhaps justice that saw Platini score the winning penalty kick in a 4-2 shoot-out win.
With their triumph in the competition, Juventus became the first team ever to have won all official continental competitions and the club world title. Also, Italian defenders Gaetano Scirea and Antonio Cabrini became the first European footballers to have won all international club competitions and Giovanni Trapattoni, the first European manager to do so.

The two pennants I have for this game are really nice and probably the rarest items of memorabilia I have in my collection for this game.
