The eighth Toyota Cup Final was played in heavy snow conditions in front of 45,000 brave supporters in the Tokyo National Stadium on 13 December 1987. FC Porto of Portugal became only the second European Team to win the Toyota Cup with a narrow 2-1 victory in extra time over Penarol of Uruguay with the winning goal scored by Algerian international Rabah Madjer.
