1992 Toyota Cup
1992 Toyota Cup Final
Barcelona v Sao Paulo
Two goals from man of the match Rai enabled Sao Paulo of Brazil to come from behind to secure a 2-1 victory against Barcelona of Spain, in the thirteenth Toyota Cup Final contested in Tokyo in front of 60,000 supporters on 13 December 1992.
The official programme for the game shown below is 100 x colour A4 pages. Apart from the introductions, the programme is in Japanese. The programme begins with a feature on Match Referee Juan Carlos Loustau from Argentina. The programme then includes full details and photos of Barcelona and Sao Paulo and their players along with further information on star players including Hristo Stoitchkov and Michael Laudrup of Barcelona and Muller and Rai of Sao Paulo amongst others. The programme also has articles on rival managers Johan Cruyff of Barcelona and Tele Santana of Sao Paulo and an article on the cities of Barcelona and Sao Paulo. The programme includes details and photos from the previous twelve Toyota Cup Finals and an article on previous Intercontinental Cup Finals. The programme details how Barcelona and Sao Paulo won the 1992 European Cup and 1992 Copa Libertadores respectively and finishes with an article on postage stamps issued for previous Intercontinental Cup Finals.
A particularly nice item of memorabilia in my collection is the large limited edition autographed print shown below by the artist Zaragoza.
