Manchester United played two games in Japan on their 2005 Asian Tour.
Two first half goals from Masashi Motoyama compared to one from Luis Saha earned Kashima Antlers a narrow 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the first tour game played on 28 July in the National Stadium, Tokyo. Rio Ferdinand and Ruud Van Nistelrooy had a furious bust-up after the final whistle.
Two goals from Wayne Rooney, the second one a fantastic dribble and a superb chip over the keeper earned Manchester United a 2-0 victory over Urawa Reds in Manchester United's second tour game played on 30 July.
